Category: Events

HSVMA is honored to be sponsoring one of the tracks at the upcoming Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) Spring CE Conference in Marlborough on Wednesday, May 9th.

"Reporting Suspected Animal Abuse in Massachusetts:
Demystifying the Process."

Massachusetts law now requires veterinarians to report any suspected cases of animal cruelty to the appropriate authorities for investigation. However, many veterinary professionals remain unclear as to when they should report suspected abuse and/or how to report it.

Presenters for this day-long CE session will be Dr. Melinda Merck of Veterinary Forensics Consulting LLC, Dr. Martha Smith-Blackmore of Forensic Veterinary Investigations LLC, Dr. Lorna Grande of HAVEN (Human/Animal Violence Education Network) and Christine Allenberg, an MSPCA humane law enforcement officer
