HSVMA ANIMAL WELFARE SYMPOSIUM FOR VETERINARY STUDENTS

Saturday, October 13, 2018

Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine, Ithaca, NY

Animal welfare has become a hot topic in veterinary medicine, and many veterinarians and students are expressing interest in learning more about this emerging field.

The fourth annual HSVMA Animal Welfare Symposium will bring together future veterinary professionals for a shared goal: to improve the lives of all animals. Not only will participants gain a better understanding of the many issues that animals face in our society and how the profession can help, the symposium will also serve as a place to share ideas, knowledge, and practical skills.

This year’s conference will feature important and timely animal welfare issues including community cat management, international street dog welfare, recognizing and reporting animal cruelty, caring for pets of the indigent, and controversies in wildlife research.

A complimentary lunch will be provided, as well as a light breakfast and snacks.

*The suture lab is now full.  If you would like to be put on a wait list, please email [email protected].  We have added a RAVS suture lab from 6-8 pm on the evening of Saturday, October 13, after the symposium!  The lab will be held on the Cornell campus.

Registration is FREE and open to veterinary students as well as veterinary professionals!
