Veterinary Student Professional Liability Insurance Program

As part of their overall clinical education, veterinary students will likely participate in one or more off-campus clinical opportunities. It is critically important to recognize the potential for personal exposure to professional liability litigation and state veterinary medical board complaints while working with client-owned animals outside of the formal university educational environment.

To assist with mitigating the expense of this exposure, Safehold Special Risk is pleased to provide a personal Professional Liability policy to HSVMA third- and fourth- year veterinary student members in the United States at no charge – up to $2,900 annual value compliments of Safehold Special Risk.

The policy will provide a number of important coverages necessary as students begin their clinical experience. Coverage includes:

  • Professional liability: $2,000,000 each occurrence / $2,000,000 annual aggregate
  • Veterinary license defense: $100,000 annually

To sign up, simply complete the short online application below. Your individual Certificate of Professional Liability Insurance coverage will be emailed to you.
